Finally! A book on PostgreSQL performance for the common man AKA psuedo-DBA! Gregory Smith just released PostgreSQL 9.0 High Performance which covers all the way back to 8.1. We’re on 8.3.x and preparing to upgrade to 9.0 so this comes at a good time. The table of contents looks really complete. I just got the eBook since I couldn’t wait although I probably won’t be able to read much until my house move is done but I’m looking forward to finding some speed in our database server.
