Brett posted in the comments on my last post about my memory leak that Adobe released Cumulative Hot Fix 3 today. His update was the memory leak issue he had repeated with a unit test was successfully corrected by the update on bug #72641:
Fix for memory leaks with CFCs stored in memory scopes. Note, this does not eliminate need for proper use of VAR scope in CFC methods
I also noticed that they resolved issue #72932 which I hope is when clearing the trusted cache via the admin API fails as I documented previously. I don’t use that technique in production because the trusted cache fails so I will have to give it another shot. It’s far preferable to restarting ColdFusion to be able to just reinit my application.
Get the file and full documentation over at Adobe.com.

Update – it does seem to have corrected the trusted cache clearing bug that I documented previously. I’ve tried it on our staging server which I believe had the issue and will try on our production next.

Another update – bug 72932 was actually released in CHF2 so if it didn’t fix it then, I don’t think it’ll fix it now. However, some testing is showing that JVMs newer than 1.6.0 u10 may have some kind of memory leak issue (at least in conjunction with Transfer in certain environments). Will post more as we sort it out.
