It wasn’t all that many years ago that I wasn’t even registered to vote. As a small business owner working long hours with lots of responsibility, the remote risk of being called to jury duty and being unable to manage my business kept me from participating in the political process.
When I sold my company, I registered and began voting. I find myself fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I believe we should have strong, personal freedoms and a small government. Generally speaking, I believe in the simple phrase “to each his own”.
My extensive travel over the past five years has made me appreciate the amazing lives and luxuries we have here in America and the great challenges that our world faces.
So today, I donated $100 to Barack Obama. I don’t agree with all of his policies but I do endorse his vision that America can be better than it is today. Washington’s short-term problem solving cannot deal with critical issues such as climate change or terrorism. Obama brings hope and passion by the truck load.
